Like all creatives, writers are very solitary creatures by nature. We often find ourselves curled up with laptops or notebooks in our beds or couches. From our comfy nooks and crannies, we are able to piece together words and create stories, essays, poems, and more. 

But in this seeming bliss of isolation, we lose a crucial element: the power of community. 

While we writers sometimes find our creative fires burning brighter when we are alone, we can’t grow further without collaboration. It is through sharing resources, skills, and perspectives that our writing is elevated, and we are propelled forward.

The Writers Help

We here at The Lit Perspective imagine a lone ant struggling against the steep slopes of a hill, rolling up a big rock–and we thought, what if there were others with it? That’s what we picture The Writers Help to be: a horde of ants using all their might to push the rock up with ease. This is the essence of a writer’s community: sharing our strengths to engage with things too big for each of us to handle by ourselves. We wanted a community where anyone can offer help, whether it be a well-timed recommendation for a writing competition, a tip on a reliable freelance platform, or even a discount code for a grammar checker. 

These seemingly small gestures are huge life-savers, helping us to focus on the core act of writing.

Beyond resources, the exchange of skills is invaluable. Sharing our strengths with fellow writers fosters growth.
