Reading some books about battling demons can be scary, especially with how we view them in general, but there are books out there that focus on battling demons, which can be fun.

It’s interesting to see the characters defeat powerful and evil entities for the good of all. That’s exactly what I got when I read Castle Forks, a story about immortal demon shadows and the father-and-son duo fighting them off, by Chris Cochrane.

Today, I’d like to present a different type of book recommendation from our regular titles like “49 Most Expensive Books Sold at Auction.” So join me as I talk and recommend some books that focus on characters fighting off demons!

Castle Forks by Chris Cochrane

Chris Cochrane never thought he would leave school to live in Castle Forks, where life is treacherous. He had no desire to battle everlasting demon shadows. Furthermore, he didn’t ask to put his life in danger to save everyone on Earth.

A mystical creature invites him and his father to an unseen palace that is concealed from view while they are out hunting in the forested mountains. A castle that harbors a long-lost nemesis who seeks to wipe off humanity, an impossible planet, and lifetime secrets.

Will the demon shadows always prevail, or do they possess the necessary skills to preserve the planet? Find out by reading this awesome story about immortal demon shadows!

A Blade So Black by L. L. McKinney

The reworking of Alice in Wonderland in urban fantasy by A Blade So Black is captivating. Yet it’s not the Wonderland, you know. It’s now one of the best books about battling demons out there.

Alice almost lost her life when the Nightmares first appeared. She is now training to use magic weapons and intense fighting techniques to take on terrifying monsters in Wonderland, a dark fantasy world. However, even fighters have a curfew.

Real-world Atlantan life isn’t always easy for Alice, who has to deal with a controlling mother, a demanding best friend, and a failing GPA. At this point, keeping the Nightmares at bay has become a full-time job.

But when Alice’s attractive and mysterious tutor gets poisoned, she has to discover the antidote by journeying farther into Wonderland than she’s traveled before. And in order to avoid losing her head, literally—and I mean literally, she’ll need to use all she’s learned in both universes.

A Blade So Black is an awesome retelling of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. It has young adult and romance elements, similar to those in Colleen Hoover’s books, minus the focus on demon fighting.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

The first book in Cassandra Clare’s latest series, The Dark Artifices, is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Mortal Instruments series and features the Shadowhunters of Los Angeles. Lady Midnight is a book about the Shadowhunters.

Five years have passed since the occurrences of City of Heavenly Fire, which nearly put the Shadowhunters out of business. Emma Carstairs is a young woman determined to find out what murdered her parents and exact revenge instead of a grieving child.

Emma, accompanied by her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, is investigating a demonic plan that spans Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the magical water that crashes upon Santa Monica’s beaches. She must learn to trust both her intellect and her heart. If only her heart had not taken her down dangerous paths.

If you’re into books that center around demon fighting, then Lady Midnight is worth checking out.

The living perished, and the dead rose as the enigmatic Ruining fog rolled across the planet. The fortified city of Viyara was the only one unaffected.

Juliet Catresou and Mahyanai Rome, the heirs to two of the most influential and rival houses in the city, have a love that transcends duty, honor, and even life itself. Romeo recently killed Juliet’s cousin Tybalt, and Juliet feels compelled by the magic bestowed upon her at birth to exact revenge on those who oppose her kin. Thus, he has to pass away.

Paris Catresou was always hoping to assist his loved ones by guarding Juliet. However, magic goes horribly wrong when his ward attempts to avoid her fate, murdering her and putting Paris in Romeo’s hands.

Paris must go deep into the city and form an alliance with his worst enemies if he hopes to get the truth about what really transpired. And perhaps turn away from his own tribe.
